While the nation prepares for the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., one question seems to be lingering in the air. What led to the moment of upheaval on January 6th when rioters stormed the Capitol as the U.S. Congress convened to certify the electoral results of the 2020 presidential election? As divided as we are, can the American people come together and move forward? Keep reading to find out this blog’s projections of the likely future of American politics. And more importantly, how you, Dear Readers, can shape it!

Such clashes are the sweet spot for the JMS team to do its magic! In short, JMS provides up-to-date yet tailor-made strategic plans that incorporate out-of-industry forces. With JMS policy recommendations, clients can successfully manage any crisis!
As 2020 came to a close, many of you, Dear Readers, wanted to follow up on the last JMS policy analysis that examined the significant changes that Governor Wolf had made to the Election Code of the great state of Pennsylvania. This blog examined why it was President Trump’s prerogative to challenge the election. He can investigate all claims of voter fraud. The JMS team believes that it is always apropos to explore all avenues to convince the American people to trust the U.S. election process. Thus, every citizen continues to exercise his/her civic duties.

Then, January 6th happened!
Like you, we could not believe what we saw on TV. And we asked ourselves how did we get to a point in time when so many of our fellow compatriots felt that rioting in the Capitol was the only avenue available to make their voices heard? Thank goodness the JMS team was away, enjoying our well-deserved annual vacation! Otherwise, we would not have known what to say to appease the minds and provide a different perspective that helps to move the dialogue about Democracy along.
The goal of today’s publication is to convince you that not all is lost. Whether you are a die-hard MAGA believer or a patriot who believes in our democratic process, this blog asserts that the future of American politics is as bright as ever as long as we continue to be civically minded voters.
Unexpectedly, the Trump administration did represent the interests of the many who felt unheard and left behind.
Yes, Dear Readers, President Trump was about the people. Before you jump on the computer to send us an unhelpful email, give us a minute. While many people have accused President Trump of being a racist, he governed very conservatively. Furthermore, he appealed to millions of hard-working Americans who have seen their standards of living eroding for the last 25 years and have been crying for help for quite some time. Indeed, many of you, Dear Readers, told us in hundreds of emails that you feared that the American Dream was simply out of reach for you and your children.

So, Dear Readers, if you are one of the MAGA believers, there is no reason to stop now. Yes, perhaps you feel that you’ve taken a giant step back as Joe Biden formally takes office in the white house this week. But you shouldn’t. You have so much to do.
Remember that your vote matters!
If you are unhappy with your elected officials, you can always vote them out of office. Here in Pennsylvania, many unhappy but civically-minded voters are already thinking of the next governor election. Indeed, Governor Wolf began his second term in 2018. It means, Dear Readers, that you will be able to vote for a candidate that shares your core values in 2022.
If you feel defeated right now, Dear Readers, keep your head up and forge forward. Democracy cannot wait! The fire and fury that President Trump brought us shall not die. Keep fighting for what you believe in and voting for the local officials whose policies align closest to your values! You have the time to familiarize yourself with the political landscape of your state, Dear Readers, and choose candidates whose policies can help you trust our election process again. It’s up to us, We The People, to hold elected officials accountable and address any concerns of voter fraud or voter suppression!
What should we expect from a Biden-Harris administration?
What will be the first item of the agenda? Who knows?!! There are talks of a senate trial since the House impeached Trump for the second time 232-197 (including 10 Republicans who fled Trump to join Democrats). But, did we forget that we are battling a devastating global pandemic? At the writing of this publication, there are 24.1 million confirmed cases and 406.2 thousand deaths in the U.S. Shouldn’t the new administration focus on policies to remedy the many ailments that the coronavirus has mercilessly unleashed on us all? What about the $2,000 or $1,400 relief check to the American people? When can we reopen the economy? When are we resuming indoor dining? When will gyms, museums, libraries, and schools reopen? When can office workers stop working from home? When are We The People, in the Land of The Free returning to our beloved way of life? Are these matters much more pressing than whether to impeach Trump? Let us in the comments or email us at jms@branding24seven.com.
