Today is the start of Memorial Weekend. And yet, COVID-19 so battered our nation, that many are wondering if things will ever go back to normal?!! As always, it bears repeating that no matter how devastating the coronavirus has been, this blog continues to reassure that we shall overcome this!
For this reason, the JMS team is actively participating in the national effort to restore some sense of normalcy and celebrate this meaningful American holiday. To that end, this blog wants to take the time to remember and honor the brave men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Indeed, this blog wants to express its deepest gratitude for all who have fallen in battles protecting America’s freedom right here at home and also abroad. Your willingness to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our country has not gone unnoticed. While no words can ever be enough to express our utmost gratitude, we will never forget your determination and courage in fighting for us and our values.
While this year’s celebration might look different due to COVID-19, Dear Readers, we hope that you will be able to observe Memorial Day if only to make solo visits to local cemeteries and place flowers, flags, or wreaths on graves or memorials of our military heroes. Since, at the time of the writing of this publication, it did not seem that towns and cities could hold crowd-pleasing parades that feature those in service, both military and civil such as fire and police departments.
Thank you to the fallen. From everyone here at JMS, we remember and honor the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.
