This Chinese virus is war. And President Trump is our wartime president. One of you, Dear Readers, has asked this blog how to remain sane and somewhat productive?
Dear Readers welcome back to the JMS blog! Thanks for all your emails voicing concerns and asking for our advice. As a crisis management firm in Philadelphia, the JMS team is all too familiar with the panic you all feel. Thankfully, as seen on the home page, JMS is in the business of designing a robust plan to avoid and address organizational paralysis as effectively as possible. Consequently, the JMS team will continue its special edition Facing The Coronavirus series to discuss concrete tools that will level up your productivity amid this dangerous pandemic.
Remember that we are all in this catastrophe together.
You are not alone, Dear Readers. We are known to be resilient and hard working. It’s in our blood. Dear Readers, this blog wants to remind the American people have faced many dark days before and shall overcome this as well!
In the meantime, think about creating routines for your family to help you weather these uncertain times.
If you are working remotely, try to set hours around the needs of other family members. For instance, it might make sense to work in the morning while the older children are doing their homework. Or you might need to work earlier in the day to be available to supervise younger children as they do more creative work. If you live in tight quarters, a routine to organize daily activities is imperative to care for your families so that meal planning, food shopping, and the sanitization of every surface of your homes can occur without disruption. If you restore a certain level of order amidst so much chaos, regardless of your constraints Dear Readers, you will have successfully regained enough productivity to face this war as effectively as possible.
Before ending today’s publication, this blog implores you all Dear Readers to take the time to manage your anxiety. Panicking is not helpful. While being anxious is understandable, the JMS team invites you to find joy in the smallest moments.
