Adopt the grand design mindset to be financially free in 2022.
Dear Readers, to have peace of mind and be financially free in 2022, you must approach your finances with a real plan. This blog is not suggesting stressing over budgeting to the point of giving yourself a heart attack. But let’s be honest, Dear Readers, we are all humans. We want things, buy things, and indulge from time to time. And, you know what, that’s part of living. Especially in these trying Omicron-infested times when we can all use a bit of joy in our lives! But, Dear Readers, can you do it without breaking the bank?!! That is the question!!!
Do you see why you need a strategy to manage your wants? At a minimum, such a grand design will prevent you from living above your means and overspending willy-nilly. But, in the long run, managing your wants with efficiency will help you live life to the fullest without feeling like you are a prisoner of your money goals! That is how to be financially free in 2022! Do you agree? Let us know in the comments below or by email at jms@branding24seven.com.
The winning strategy is to start small.
Dear Readers, did you know that many small bad habits keep you broke? Indeed, small mindless expenses are robbing you of being financially free. Today is the day to think about how to be shed useless expenses and be strategic with your financial goals for 2022.
Why keep a gym membership you don’t even use?
OK, Dear Readers, this blog wants you to be fit and healthy in 2022. After all, the pandemic showed us that Americans with underlying medical conditions are susceptible to a higher risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes. So, the JMS team gets it that you need to engage in some form of physical activity. But do you need a gym membership?
After all, the unused membership you keep telling yourself that you’ll wake up one day and start using may not be the best option for you in 2022. If you remember, Dear Readers, early in the pandemic, gyms closed and remained closed for months! What did you do then? Some people bought peloton or alternative exercise bikes to burn the fat. Others chose to get free weight instead. Many joined virtual class networks. Yet others still rediscovered the benefits of walking. And the good news is that it’s free!!! All these lower-cost options are just as effective as keeping you healthy without breaking the bank. So, unless you have access to extraordinary capital assets such as basketball, tennis, squash courts, or pools, ditch the gym to be financially free in 2022.
To be financially free in 2022, you must ditch store credit cards.
Dear Readers, it might not be feasible to move to an all-cash system in 2022 with Omicron burning through America like wildfire. However, do you need so many stores credit cards when you have your bank-issued one that is accepted everywhere? Forget the discount offers that entice you enough to consider signing up for them. Why, may you ask? Because store credit cards are a raw deal for you, Dear Readers. Indeed, stores know that you will not pay the balance in full at the end of the month. They count on it!
That’s because they know that the discount given with the enticing offer is nothing compared to the money they’ll make with interests as you carry the balance for the next year or so. Did you know that the average American has a credit card balance of $5,525? Do you see how these store credit cards prevent you from being financially free? So, why not skip them all together!

Forget leasing and just buy the car instead to be financially free in 2022!
Again, Dear Readers, this is another raw deal. This blog knows that most people prefer to lease since the monthly car note ends up being lower than if they outright purchase the car. Also, people love the newness of changing cars every couple of years. But do you see how this newness is keeping you a slave to your favorite car brand? What else do you call those pesky charges you see at the end of the contract when the dealer always seems to conclude that the car has had too much wear and tear? Dear Readers, this is how you end up paying twice the price of a used car over by the time you are handing back the keys!!
Working with JMS clients, we’ve noticed that by the time we account for the overall cost of the lease, you can easily have spent over $10,000 more than if you had purchased a used car. Indeed, each leasing contract comes with a set mileage limit. But we are penalized with mileage restrictions and penalties if we exceed that limit.
So, Dear Readers, if you cannot afford a brand-new car, that’s understandable. There are, however, many options available to purchase used vehicles these days without breaking the bank. You can find a ride to your liking online and even get it delivered from the comfort of your home, Dear Readers. Undoubtedly, you’ll save a whole lot more if you purchase a used car that you’ll be able to own in a couple of years rather than leasing a vehicle that you’ll have to turn in and pay a mountain of additional fees. The initial lower monthly note is not worth it! Leave a comment below if you disagree and have a better tip to be financially free in 2022!
