On this day, Dear Readers, let’s celebrate Presidents Day 2022!
But how do you celebrate when the pandemic has caused two years of collective trauma? Have we not all reached our breaking point? Every week we find out that yet another person has attacked or assaulted a fellow American. Everyone has a short fuse! Don’t you think so, Dear Readers?
Celebrate Presidents Day 2022 with a renewed commitment to mental health.
You know what they say, Dear Readers, “charity begins at home”! Presidents Day is not necessarily a synonym with any preferred civic activity. But this year, after two years of an interminable pandemic battering our spirits, the JMS team invites you, our Dearest Readers, to focus on your mental health. After all, you are no good to anyone if you are a blithering basket case! So, Dear Readers, celebrate Presidents Day 2022 with a self-care plan to refresh, recharge, and rejuvenate!
ONE – Invest in your tribe.
Dear Readers, you probably have people in your life that you could get to know better. By people, the JMS blog is, of course, referring to loved ones and colleagues. But what about including the many neighbors and acquaintances you see in the many circles you navigate in life?
Who knows, you might find your people at church or the charity you volunteer at once a month?!!! You might make a genuine connection if you open yourself up to a few people. The JMS team is not suggesting giving your personal information to anyone, especially not given all the scamming that is happening online! But if there is one thing that COVID-19 took away from us, it’s the human interaction we probably all took for granted before March 2020. So, go ahead and explore the various ways you can strengthen existing relationships and turn them into your tribe. Remember, Dear Readers, that having a robust social network is beneficial to your mental health.
TWO – Celebrate Presidents Day 2022 by exploring a new hobby.
Yes, Dear Readers, it is that simple! When you are in crisis, your mind tends to run at 12,000 miles per hour. As your thoughts are racing and you suddenly find yourself short of breath, you are a hair away from having a full-blown panic attack. The best way to avoid such an unfortunate predicament, Dear Readers, is to find a creative hobby that repels all negative thoughts.
How often have we heard that arts education is essential for our children? So why is it that adults lose their creative outlets the moment they start “adulting”? Well, mental health matters to all, even us adults!!! Dear Readers, you need something to enrich your life even if you are still under the newest version of vaccine or mask mandates.
There you have it, Dear Readers! Thank you for taking the time to read today’s publication. Remember that this blog is always here to help you, Dear Readers, get a better handle on your time management, avoid behavioral inertia, and eliminate organizational or fiscal paralysis. Come back every week for practical tips to finally achieve the life of purpose you’ve always wanted!
As always, Dear Readers, leave a line below in the comment section or via the contact form to ask questions or share comments.
From everyone at JMS, have a rejuvenating Presidents Day 2022!
