So, March is here! Are you already feeling the stress of filing your taxes weighing you down, Dear Readers? Are the winter blues sapping you of any ounce of motivation you are struggling to muster so you can finally chase your dreams? Keep reading to find out why this blog believes that there is no better time to spruce up your routines, Dear Readers, and commit to all the goals you had set for yourselves on New Year’s Day!
Welcome to new and returning readers to the Branding24Seven community! As the brainchild of JMStrategy LLC (JMS), a boutique consulting firm that offers strategic solutions to strengthen your brand, this blog is the place to find the answers to your most burning productivity questions. Now, let’s examine how to choose the right routines for your personal goals instead of blindly following trends.
Before proceeding, Dear Readers, please take a moment to check out last week’s publication to learn the first central principle of the infrastructure you need to make real progress towards your goals this year.
Today, this blog is exploring the second pillar: create daily routines or a repertoire of habits that you put in rotation every week to help you evaluate your progress and give you the motivation to keep fighting for what you want.
The truth of the matter is that we are easily distracted, Dear Readers. Our jobs are not the only things on our minds, of course!
We are thinking about what to have for lunch and the many messes around the house. Thanks to social media, it seems that we also spend our days battling multiple episodes of FOMO or fear of missing out (for those of us who are less hip than the cool millennials)!
Not to mention the barrage of news we absorb thanks to the never-ending media circus around the 2020 primaries and caucuses that is unavoidable but weigh heavily on our minds. How about that sensation of unrelenting anxiety or stress you feel in the pit of your stomach now and again that reduces any chance of getting a good night’s sleep soon? With all these distractions Dear Readers, how can you focus on your goals? No wonder New Year’s resolutions are all but a faint memory!
Therefore, the best way to stay focused in a world full of distractions is to cultivate a repertoire of habits you can trust that will slowly but sure bring you closer to your goals. Indeed, now that you know what right things you should be doing thanks to the first pillar, the second pillar shows you the best way to invest in time and dispense energy to maximize your productivity.
Who wants to waste time doing pointless tasks? Not this blog! And certainly not you, Dear Readers! Ergo, habits are what you need to make real progress towards your goals! Ok, but what kind of habits do you need? Where can you find inspiration to hone said needed habits?
The purpose of your repertoire of habits should be to help you feel physically great, emotionally positive, intellectually uplifted, spiritually inspired, and mentally energized to keep going day in and day out no matter what life throws your way! Yes, this thing called life can get quite overwhelming. But, if all you do is dreaming, nothing will get done. Absolutely. Nothing! Daily routines are about getting things done. Since you have mastered the first pillar, you have already explored how to separate essentials from nonessentials. The next step is to choose to invest in yourself.
Dear Readers, don’t think for a second that life happens in a vacuum.
It doesn’t! Consequently, this blog urges you to believe that your lives are in your hands. You have the power to get the life of your dreams. Do not surrender your power to choose what’s best for you and your family to any other external forces who cannot have a full appreciation for who you are and what you can contribute to society. Better yet, do not let your life become a function of the mistakes you have made in the past, or worst, the decisions other people have made to safeguard their best interests and not yours!
Never forget, Dear Readers, that success begins in your mind. In Anna’s case, the challenge was to build a goal-seeking infrastructure around weekly and daily routines. Since she works long hours, she opted to work out in the mornings. As pounds started to melt quite instantly since she never used to exercise, she became even more motivated to attack both her prediabetes condition and hypertension.
Furthermore, to increase her debt payments and retirement contributions, she eliminated a few indulgences such as her delicious daily Starbucks lattes, weekly precious manicures, pedicures, as well as steep monthly cable bills. She accepted to follow these seemingly stern measures for one year because she was able to finally visualize what success really meant to her: it’s not about money or even buying things…. It’s all about finding purpose, direction, contentment, and happiness. Don’t miss the final installment of this productivity series, Dear Reader, to unlock your potential and finally crush your goals!
