We don’t seem to get a break in 2020, don’t we, Dear Readers??? States have been imposing new coronavirus restrictions that smell like another lockdown! And now, it seems that Thanksgiving traveling is down the toilet! With all of these depressing restrictions, how are you supposed to remain productive while working from home if you are lucky enough to have a job? This blog is here to provide actional tips, Dear Readers, to help you find a groove despite what has been without a doubt a tumultuous year so far!
Welcome, Dear Readers, and thanks for stopping by the JMS blog!
The JMS team is back with valuable insights that will inspire you to be fearless in the pursuit of your dreams. FYI, JMS is a consulting firm located in Philadelphia that advises people and organizations on how to manage crises with efficiency. To that end, the JMS team is in the business of designing recovery plans as robust as possible that avoid behavioral and financial paralysis. Therefore, Dear Readers, this blog will help you make sense of these unprecedented times without feeling devoid of motivation and utterly defeated. You got this, Dear Readers, and don’t you ever forget it!
This blog gets it, Dear Readers! You are fed up with the Kraken that Trump’s legal team has yet to release at the time of the writing of this publication in the 2020 presidential election interminable saga and COVID-19 travel restrictions. But, if you have a job, you must find the strength to push forward and perform at the level you’ve always been able to do despite what is going on in the world!
Consequently, the first mindset for success in lockdown is to ditch the pendulum swing and find your middle ground.
Dear Readers, the truth of the matter is that life usually happens in a cycle.
All human beings experience peaks and valleys. Even when everything feels great, there are still ebbs and flows to navigate since the seasons of nature and life wait for no one! But, since the beginning of this global pandemic, we seem to be residing in a constant state of the extreme. Everything is the most… 2020 is the most… (you fill in the blanks with your own words and notice that you are living in the extremes)!
Dear Readers, many of you have felt that there haven’t been any peaks whatsoever since March 2020, depending on which industries you belong to, of course. Others did see small peaks as COVID-19 restrictions eased very slowly over the summer. Most of us, however, have been dealing with terrible bouts of anxiety or outright depression since April and May when the unemployment rate was frenetically rising with no further help from the government insight past the initial CARES Act.
These wild swings in mood and outlook are precisely what this blog wants you to avoid this time around.
Believe it or not, Dear Readers, you have learned and changed a lot because of all that you’ve done so far to survive the coronavirus. This inevitable yet perhaps unwanted growth should help you identify your middle ground or the path to take that can avoid indulging in morally damaging wild swings that undeniably will negatively impact your productivity.
Dear Readers, you have to remember that living in the extremes is mentally draining, not sustainable for a long time, and certainly won’t get you closer to living the meaningful fulfilling life you are craving! So why indulge further in such destructive behavior? You, Dear Readers, are capable of amazing things. This blog certainly believes it! All you need is the right mindset, a formidable work ethic, and you will find success (yes, even in a lockdown)!
Final thoughts.
