Alright warriors, tired of fighting the good fight already? How are you going to achieve your 2020 goals if you give up now? Well, truth be told Dear Readers, you finance your dreams by getting out of your comfort zone over and over and over again! Consequently, Dear Readers, you must get used to 1) running out of steam sometimes, 2) stumbling regularly, and 3) feeling discouraged more often than not because change is inevitable.
The JMS team calls this series mindset because it believes that to reach success requires a radical mental transformation. Success does not happen in a vacuum. Miracles do not happen overnight either. However, a shift in your mindset can happen rather quickly, especially after feeling the burn of a personal or professional loss.
So, Dear Readers, how do you pick up the pieces of a temporarily shattered life and move forward when you honestly do not feel like it? Put one foot in front of the other and keep going.
Consequently, the sixth Mindset for SUCCESS to adopt is: ACTIONS BREED MOTIVATION, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Yes, Dear Readers, it is that simple.
So, the real question is what kind of actions you should pose to bring you closer to success?
By actions, Dear Readers, this blog is not talking about the mindless reflexes you have developed to survive so far! Nope, that is not living but rather subsisting! Who wants to have that kind of wretched life? Nobody! Dear Readers, why would you consider settling for this?
OK, enough with the tangents! Let’s get back on track and discuss actions. If the goal of your life is to find meaning, then your actions must have a purpose. In fact, e
Thus, this blog invites you to get into the habit of asking yourself what is the purpose of your job, of the elective course you are forced to take this semester, of the friends you have chosen to surround yourself with, of your meals, of your free time in the grand skim of things? You get the idea, question everything!
If you, Dear Readers, cannot say with conviction that your job is a stepping stone to X goal or your class is part of the curriculum that will help you to enter XY career, your friends are the support system that inspires you to reach XYZ goal, the choice of your meals is a deliberate attempt to prevent X diseases that are running in your family, your free time fuels your dreams by studying for XY certification…. In other words, if the actions that power all the different aspects of your life do not work in concert to propel you forward toward your goals, then you are never going to achieve the success you have been dreaming of for your entire life. Sad, but this is the truth and nothing but the truth!
As you see, Dear Readers, literally everything in your life must have a purpose. Thus, this blog invites you to shift your perspective and consider your daily chores to be small bricks that lay the foundation for success.
Accordingly, each day is an invitation to cultivate the discipline to find the purpose behind every daily action. Remember that everything appears to be ordinary until you lose it Dear Readers. So, the next time you are not motivated to do anything, ask yourself: are you willing to lose your job, your health, your family and friends? The JMS team certainly hopes not!
Before ending, there is a caveat: when you can’t see where you are going and are unsure of what the near future holds, you must continue to find a purpose behind what may appear to be mundane actions. That’s because progress is not a linear line. It is messy and can seem to take you all over the place.
Yet, if you live your life purposefully, you will see changes Dear Readers. In time, these changes will get you excited and will give you the motivation to continue to move forward. So, rather than wait for motivation to hit you out of thin air, decide what actions you need to pose to achieve your vision of success.
A great way to make sure that to fill your days with purposeful actions is to have a solid evening routine. After dinner or after you’ve decompressed at the end of a hard day at work, take a notebook or planner to reflect on your day. Then, ask yourself the following: what do I want? What do I need to do to get it? How can tomorrow be different and better than today?
And there you have it! As always, Dear Readers, thank you for stopping by today. This blog wants to see you crush your 2020 goals! Share this post with your friends and anyone who might be struggling to see how to move forward. So, keep fighting to get what’s rightfully yours, Dear Readers!
