Case study showing how to incorporate strategic wind-down evening chunk for full-time employees will sustain weekly productivity.
So far in the #Blogmas2021 series, this blog shared with you the work a JMS client has been willing to put in to have a more productive week this year. You’ve seen how James organized his morning chunk to achieve his dreams. This blog also explored how you, Dear Readers, can incorporate FOUNDATIONAL BLOCKS into your soul-feeding chunks to reclaim control and live a more meaningful life.
Now, Dear Readers, this blog introduces another JMS client, Rosalina, who works from home 35 hours a week as a writer and is married to two gorgeous teens. The purpose of sharing the case study of two people with vastly different lifestyles and priorities is to show you, Dear Readers, that you too can have a meaningful life regardless of your background! Now let’s explore how you could set up a rejuvenating evening chunk, Dear Readers.
Rosalina recognizes that she has no self-discipline. For that reason, she asked the JMS team to create a simple pattern that to follow every day of the week. Please note, Dear Readers, that this mother of two had a long list of requirements the JMS team had to abide by for her to find real purpose outside of work. Every night, she wanted to spend quality time with her children and husband separately, cultivate a gratitude practice but keep it on the short side, practice yoga, and go to bed before midnight. Do you see, Dear Readers, how these FINISHING BLOCKS are fulfilling the self-care facet of her weekly routine?
Here is how the JMS team helped Rosalina transform her evening chunk into a restorative/rejuvenating source of life:
1) Meal prep with the children 5 pm for the 6:30 pm family dinner.
2) Family speed cleaning sesh 7:30 pm.
3) Family game hour at 8 pm.
4) Yoga stretches with her husband at 9 pm.
5) Shower and 15-minute gratitude journaling at 10pm. Light out before 11pm!
As you see, Dear Readers, she had a tall order to fill! Yet, the JMS team made it happen! Rosalina’s weeklies are vastly different from the other JMS client James, who is single but working full-time and pursuing a degree full-time as well. He is not in a season of life that allows him to incorporate FINISHING BLOCKS. And you know what, Dear Readers, that’s OK.
Remember that you cannot have everything at the same time. Living a meaningful life takes a lot of effort. But, if you are currently investing in a graduate degree while working full-time, you may not have the bandwidth to include all the BLOCKS this blog discussed in the #Blogmas2021 series. The goal is to help you improve your lives today with the priorities you’ve set for your loved ones. To that end, the JMS team hopes that the gems shared throughout this 12-day reset can inspire you to live the life of your dreams. With sacrifice, focus, and a few strategic choices, you will see your productivity increase exponentially outside of work.
