Is the U.S. Brand under President Biden in distress? A year ago, the nation was preparing for what turned out to be the most contentious and contested presidential in recent memory. Yet, Dear Readers, many of you are unhappy with the current state of the U.S. economy. Therefore, this blog is here to provide an honest review of Biden’s first year and analyze whether the U.S. brand is in distress.
Welcome to new and returning readers to the Branding24seven community!
The JMS team is back with valuable insights that will inspire you to be fearless in the pursuit of your dreams. Dear Readers, if it’s your first time here, welcome, and thanks for stopping by the JMS blog. FYI, JMS is a consulting firm located in Philadelphia that advises people and companies to manage risk and avoid organizational or fiscal paralysis. To that end, the JMS team is in the business of designing recovery plans as robust as possible that avoid behavioral or productivity inertia.
Therefore, this blog will help you make sense of these unprecedented times without feeling devoid of motivation and utterly defeated. This blog recognizes that we are living through unprecedented times. Yet, now is the time to get a handle on understanding public policy to make the most informed choice for the 2022 elections.
Should this blog explore politics?
No! The truth is that the JMS team detests politics and what it has become in recent years: a sh*t show and a cluster f**k…. Pardon our French! But we care deeply about public policy and its impact on the American brand.
And since you, Dear Readers, seem to lose trust toward legacy media and choose instead to turn to alternative sources of information on social media, this blog aims to offer franc public policy discussions from time to time.
Part of our work here at JMS is to help clients be strategic as their organizations face public policy challenges. In recent years, it seems that average Americans are increasingly more interested in understanding the impact of public policy in all aspects of their lives. We are receiving more questions from you today than four years ago. We love it! Indeed, public policy impacts us all, Dear Readers. Therefore, if we want to be productive yet civic-minded participants to the greatest democracy of the world, then we must all pay attention to public policy. Don’t you agree? Let us know by email or in the comment section below.
Should you care about Biden’s handling of our economy?
Yes! As you’ve seen since March 2020, the government can infringe on our God-given negative rights of life, liberty, and property, in the name of protecting the American people from a global pandemic. What does that mean for you, Dear Readers? Well, the U.S. president can dictate whether we can work, shop, run businesses, rent, and even gather with loved ones.
While such a level of government intrusion might be a regular occurrence in dictatorships and socialist economies, in the Land of the Free, this level of interference is unheard of since we have the much-revered Constitution of the United States! This blog firmly believes that an unambiguously clear philosophy flows through our Declaration of Independence, conferring thus the God-given negative rights of life, liberty, and property to all Americans.
These rights are sacred and predate any form of government that no U.S. president should even feel emboldened enough to trample all over these rights. For that reason alone, Dear Readers, this blog encourages you to pay attention and care about how President Biden handles our economy. If we want to continue to enjoy our way of living here in the Land of the Free, we must pay attention to what is happening in D.C.! As Frederick Douglas stated oh so long ago, “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

Is the U.S. brand under Biden in distress?
Now, Dear Readers, that is the million-dollar question! While this blog would never dare to tell you what to think, here are pertinent factors to consider as you make up your mind:
1) Georgia, the fiercest battleground.
Remember that we began 2021 with the Georgia Senate runoff elections where Republicans and Democrats battled to the death for the control of the Senate. With Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock winning over Georgia’s two incumbent GOP senators, there was a 50-50 split in the Senate, with VP Kamala Harris being able to cast any tie-breaking votes. Yet, soon after that battle, there was a long-heated debate around the Georgia new voting law called the Election Integrity Act of 2021. However, Biden and other detractors called it Jim Crow 2.0.
Was that the first sign that the U.S. brand under Biden is in distress? After all, Atlanta lost the 2021 MLB All-Star Game after the Georgia State Legislature passed the new voting law. The league moved the game to Colorado in protest. In an instant, Atlanta lost this incredible revenue-generating opportunity right when so many small business owners were on life support and in desperate need of economic activity. What do you think, Dear Readers? Let us know in the comment section below!
2) The U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan was a horror show and a sign to the world that the U.S. brand under Biden is in distress.
The world watched the horror show live as we withdrew from Afghanistan and left behind everything and everyone. Equipment, military assets, foreign staff, and Afghan asylum seekers were left in a hurry and without a well-thought-out exit strategy. While we all agree that the lengthy and costly war had to come to an end, wasn’t this poorly executed withdrawal the biggest snafu ever, Dear Readers? You can email us your thoughts at jms@branding24seven.com if you don’t want to leave a comment below!
3) Inflation is at an all-time high.
So many of you, Dear Readers, have shared with us your shopping trials and tribulations as the global supply chain chaos disrupts your lives and eats away at your paychecks. In short, you are feeling destitute! Is the American dream dead? Again, this blog asks you: is the U.S. brand under Biden in distress? Better yet, now is the time to reevaluate whether you believe in his leadership. And if you don’t, you will have the opportunity to have your voice heard during the 2022 midterm elections when all 435 seats in the House and 34 Senate seats are on the chopping block. This blog will answer any public policy questions you may have, so keep them coming!
Feeling overwhelmed, here’s How To Budget Amid Rising Inflation and keep as much as your paycheck as possible working for you.
4) America is on strike and a sign at home that the U.S. brand under Biden is in distress!
Who isn’t quitting these days, Dear Readers? All news outlets keep reporting that we are in the midst of a tight labor market. Companies are complaining that they are having a hard time finding qualified employees. Yet, everywhere you go, there are shortages and more shortages. Restaurants across the nation can’t seem to hire enough waiters. Airlines are canceling flights in droves due to staffing shortages.
Why are we seeing such a high number of job openings? Why were so many small businesses unprepared to bring back employees? Could it be that states lifted pandemic restrictions in a hurry without providing a rollout blueprint for small businesses to face eager patrons who were ready to flock back after a second lockdown? Why wasn’t the federal government more strategic in the reopening guidelines it sent to states to avoid this specific level of chaos? Again, this blog must ask whether the U.S. brand under Biden is in distress? Especially since he shared his many complaints on the campaign trail when criticizing President Trump’s reopening strategy after the first lockdown. What do you think, Dear Readers?
